The 2020 Aston Martin DB11 is the most powerful car in the history of the DB line. The company also describes this coupe as the most efficient, most dynamically gifted DB model and the most significant new Aston Martin since the introduction of the DB9 in 2003. We’ve seen some leaked shots in the past but now we have new, much more revealing shots. We’re glad to see that the new car is very modern and features a number of elements from handsome Aston Martin concepts. The automaker says the new platform will enable its cars to be at the forefront of design, performance and technology.
2020 Aston Martin DB11 Exterior and Interior Design
The design of the DB9’s successor was a complete mystery for a very long time, but the arrival of the DB10 movie car provided a few hints about the styling direction Aston Martin is moving toward. The DB11 will have smaller headlamps, a DB10 inspired front grille, and a revised hood. Aston is keen to emphasize how different it is from the aged DB9, and in fact it uses a new aluminum architecture that will underpin all the brand’s future models. The most obvious visual difference is the “roof strake” that runs from the base of the A-pillar, above the glass, and to the base of the C-pillar, and which is available in aluminum, black, or body color.
The most noticeable changes are those that have been wrought in the cabin, with the arrival of Daimler’s electronic architecture, the other part of the two companies collaboration. The DB11’s interior has been redesigned from a clean sheet, but Aston Martin was careful enough not to stray too far from its classic GT layout. As a result, DB9 enthusiasts will probably notice some similarities in the DB11’s clean dashboard design and wide center stack with twin rectangular A/C vents between the infotainment screen and its controls. The cabin is immaculately finished and benefits from TFT instruments and an 8.0-inch display screen. Options include a powered armrest, automatic parking, and a 1000-watt Bang & Olufsen audio system.
