2020 Kia Cee’d has been revealed before it makes its public debut. This is the all-new Kia Ceed. It’s a rival to cars like the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf. While Kia continues to conceal its European 2020 Cee’d prototypes, in Korea, the automaker has circulated an example of the all-new hatch on the road without a single trace of camouflage. A source shows short clips of cars taken from spy.
2020 Kia Cee’d Exterior and Interior Design
With the heavy camo off, we can say with total certainty that the Cee’d hatchback looks a lot like the new Forte. The new car features a slightly more dynamic exterior, one you could almost mistake for being German. The parallel is stronger than on the previous generations of these cars. Boasting a sleek Tiger Nose grille and a couple of design traits borrowed from the smaller Rio. Lower, wider, and with a longer rear overhang than the car it replaces, the Ceed’s cab-rearward silhouette exhibits a more mature sense of athleticism. The new model features ‘ice cube’ LED daytime running lights as standard, echoing the appearance of earlier GT and GT-Line models. The 2020 Cee’d builds on its five-door replacement. At the rear, new LED daytime running lights give the Ceed greater visibility paired with straight lines in the bodywork and a subtle rear boot spoiler, the Ceed presents a more stable overall appearance.
The Cee’d seems to have a completely different interior. Although Cee’d and Forte are now basically the same car. The dash and way the center stack is laid out is more modern and premium looking. There’s a lot more plastic and awkward bit in the international version, especially the way the screen sits between the air vents. Fork out for a high-spec car and you’ll get an eight-inch touchscreen with built-in satellite navigation. A list of options includes wireless charging for smartphones, heating of the windshield, ventilation of the front seats and Android Auto smartphone mirroring are available across the range.
2020 Kia Cee’d Release Date and Price
The new concept bears more than a passing resemblance to the impressive Kia Forte, which is set to arrive in the market on next year. As a result, you can expect to pay from around $18,000 for an entry-level car and around £27,000 for a top-spec model.
2020 Kia Cee’d Engine Specs and Performance
As far as powertrain is concerned, we expect the Cee’d to share its petrol and diesel engines as well as its on-board tech with the Hyundai i30, which means a little more legroom and increased body rigidity. The power line-up will include turbo motors covering petrol 1.0 and 1.4 liter of 120 and 140 hp and 1.6 liter diesel that outputs 115 and 136 hp, paired with a 6 speed manual gearbox or a 7 speed DSG. A Korean-developed twin-clutch gearbox will serve as Kia’s DSG rival. Another feature that’ll help make the Ceed more relaxing to drive is Kia’s new semi-autonomous driving tech. With a little extra cost you will be able to enjoy the latest technology from 2020 Kia Cee’d.
