The 2020 Ford Edge has everything you might want in a tech focused, stylish crossover as long as you don’t require third row seating or a luxury badge. After some hefty improvements for previous model, Ford’s Edge handsome and capable is slated for few, if any, changes for 2020. The main competitors in the market will be Jeep Grand Cherokee, Nissan Murano, Dodge Durango, Mazda CX-9, Subaru Outback and Volkswagen Touareg.

This mid size crossover SUV is made CD4 platform, with four doors. The wheels are 17 inch or 18 inch aluminum, with a wheelbase of 112.2 inches. Optionally will be offered to the wheels 20 or 22 inch. The chrome grille is partially refreshed. A hexagonal shape with the two horizontal slats. Incorporating new narrower front LED headlights, while the rear headlights mounted horizontally. There is also a new rear roof spoiler.

The 2020 Ford Edge is a midsize five-passenger crossover SUV. In the absence of clever cargo-stowage tricks. The seating position in front is rather high, yet it affords enough headroom above and offers a good view out over the hood. Mostly well designed, with a center console pass through and even a storage drawer to the left of the steering wheel. The updated Edge will remain in the Ford ranks until at least 2020. The Edge is an intriguing proposition, one that wasn’t even a blip on our radar until now, and we do wonder exactly who will buy it. With a huge change in store, we don’t expect to see a big price increase of the 2020 model $30,845 – $41,295 pay range.

2020 Ford Edge Powertrain and Specifications

A pair of turbocharged powerplants will once again return, complemented by a normally aspirated V6. The standard engine in all 2020 Ford Edge trims, except the Sport, remains a 2.7 liter turbocharged (EcoBoost) inline 4 cylinder powerplant that once again pairs with the ubiquitous 8 speed shiftable automatic transmission for 335 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. It should help propel the new Edge to 60 mph quicker than the 5.6 seconds we’ve recorded in the Edge Sport. Fuel economy ratings are good, but not as class leading as you might guess given the EcoBoost badging. Which is only offered in all wheel drive model manages 17 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, 20 mpg combined 2020 Ford Edge.
