The 2020 Lincoln Continental is a new entry in a competitive luxury sedan segment. Lincoln finally brought us a new Continental concept last year. The Continental is an especially important, high profile car right now. It has the task of being a torch holder for the struggling to run Lincoln brand, and that’s a tough job these days. Technically this is the tenth generation of the Continental, so around these parts feel free to call it the Mark X, because that just sounds awesome.
2020 Lincoln Continental Exterior and Interior Design
Unlike sedans from Lexus, Infiniti, and even Mercedes-Benz that are of similar size, the largest Lincoln sedan doesn’t offer particularly expressive design. It’s distinctive, but not a car that will stop traffic. Changes are minor above the front bumper, where we can see a mildly revised grille. It’s the bumper that got the most significant change, ditching the slender air vents in favor of larger openings. LED lights at the bottom of the front and in the taillamps that illuminate, followed by headlamps that awaken and then lights that illuminate the pavement around the front doors. There is also a large chrome letters spelling out Lincoln on the trunk. Sleek as the concept car, but it’s certainly less heavy than the preceding MKS, and it’s distinctive enough to stand apart.
Much of Lincoln’s effort went toward making the interior a star component of the new car, trimmed with wood, aluminum, leather upholstery and a leather wrapped dash, door and console panels. The driver seat, for example, can be adjusted in 30 directions, with heating, cooling and massage functions, and even independent thigh extensions. Infotainment and connectivity features includes Ford’s new Sync 3 system, a new rear seat entertainment system, and orchestral audio. Lincoln addresses the serenity issue with, among other elements, active noise cancellation.
2020 Lincoln Continental Price and Release Date
Talking money at this point is always hard, but the Continental will undoubtedly slot above the MKZ. The price of this car is announced however not really a small group of Lincoln fanatics envisioned the price had been a bit better in comparison to its competitors. The new Lincoln Continental has a price starting at $60,000. The price may increase or decrease. However, this price is so reasonably priced to predict before. The Continental will likely arrive in showrooms in late 2019 as a 2020 model.
2020 Lincoln Continental Powertrain and Performance
The car will run with three engine. The base engine will be a 3.7 liter V6. Exact power output wasn’t disclosed, but we expect it is around 300 hp. Next up is a 2.7 liter twin turbo V6, figure on 325 hp or so here. Both a engine use with standard front wheel drive, all wheel drive will be optional. The top level Continental is projected to get around 400 hp and 400 lb ft of torque from a 3.0 liter twin turbo V6, with FWD on lower tiered models and available rear axel torque vectoring on models equipped with AWD in 2020 Lincoln Continental.
