This time spy shots for 2019 Range Rover Velar testing have been widely dispersed. A heavily camouflaged, more potent version of the Velar has just been spotted testing, and although we can’t confirm it yet, the test muse shown in these spy shots looks to be a prototype for the Velar SVR variant. The Range Rover Velar is an implicit admission by the automaker of its customers’ priorities. That won’t be the only model bearing the Road Rover badge, as Land Rover intends to expand the lineup over time to create a range of more road-biased and car-like vehicles, much like how the Range Rover brand grew to include the Sport, Evoque and Velar.
2019 Range Rover Velar Exterior and Interior Design
We assume that exterior updates for the Velar will be similar to other SVR models. The Range Rover Velar design philosophy is revolutionary. Up front, Land Rover will redesign the bumper, adding larger intakes on each side and a revised lower section with a large splitter. Features including the foil stamped grille give the vehicle’s front profile an undeniable presence. The headlamps will carry over unchanged, but the grille should receive a new mesh. Striking proportions, the prototype shows a new rear bumper with two exhaust tips, as well as flush door handles and an integrated rear spoiler all improve aerodynamics.
Much like the Sport SVR, the Velar will bring a number of exclusive features in addition to the crossover’s already rich and well appointed interior. A fully customizable interior experience with voice and temperature control, 8 speaker surround sound, heated seats and steering wheel. Whether trimmed in premium fabric or supple leather, the roomy passenger compartment of the new Range Rover Velar is a study in elegant minimalism. In addition, customers will find all the equipment that makes the Velar an attractive option in this segment, such as the 10 inch digital instrument cluster, the Touch Pro Duo infotainment system and touch controls for the HVAC system. It also includes a 4G LTE Wi-Fi and smartphone connectivity. The Velar will come with or offer a full range of driver assists including adaptive cruise control and advanced tow assist.
2019 Range Rover Velar Release Date and Price
It opens up new trails and possibilities, chances are it will start some trends within the industry, perhaps as soon as September next year. Pricing will start at $50,895 for a base Velar. Topping the range is the Velar First Edition at $90,295.
2019 Range Rover Velar Powertrain and Performance
While there aren’t any details about the powertrain alignment available just yet, some source claims that the test mule produced a recognizable sound that could only come from a V6 engine. We predict three engines will be available in the Velar globally. Engine choices include turbocharged 2.0 liter gasoline fired Ingenium 4 cylinder gets 247 horsepower, a 3.0 liter supercharged V6 and a 2 0 liter turbocharged diesel. This will each produce power 380 horsepower and 180 horsepower. The engine should be backed by a revised eight-speed automatic gearbox and paddle-shift automatic transmission with closely stacked ratios and reduced shift times for 2019 Range Rover Velar.
