The 2019 Lexus GS is still fundamentally the same car as last year, an additional engine choice and a cosmetic face lift fleshes out its presence this year where the fourth generation made its debut. This midsize luxury sedan remains a feature-rich, comfortable and competent performer. Lexus has also given the GS a power boost, giving it a competitive edge. However, the luxury sports sedan segment continues to offer strong competition in the form of the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
2019 Lexus GS Exterior and Interior Design
2019 Lexus GS sports a dynamic and aggressive new exterior. Most of the body panels remain unchanged from the pre-facelift GS, but the front is where most of the visual updates are found. The muscular sculpted lines and low centre of gravity feature a redesigned front fascia boasting a bolder Spindle Grille with a satin chrome finish and an updated front bumper. Both front and rear light clusters are new too. The fronts are now separated into two elements, with the high and low beam lamps sitting above Lexus’s barb-shaped LED strip embedded within the front body work. The rear lights are the same shape, but are updated with a new LED arrangement. Presumably one of several wheel options that Lexus says will be available in both 18 and 19 inch sizes.
Inside the cabin, the design as well as the equipment have been revamped in order to offer the best available extras. There are new available colors for the leather on the seats and on the dashboard, new wood inserts as well as standard aluminum buttons and vents which make it seem miles above some of its competitors which still use plastic. Standard equipment includes a sunroof, keyless entry and ignition, driver selectable drive modes, eight way power front seats, driver seat memory functions, a power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, matte wood trim and ambient lighting. Standard technology features include Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, Lexus’ Remote Touch interface, an 8 inch central display, a rearview camera, and a 12 speaker surround sound audio system with a CD player, satellite and HD radio, a USB interface and an auxiliary audio jack. Also included is Siri integration for select iPhones.
2019 Lexus GS Release Date and Price
The 2019 Lexus GS is expected to make its debut in late 2017, with sales starting as early as the first quarter or so of 2018, as the 2019 model year. Pricing is really up and the air, and it’s really too early to even justify talking about it considering we’re not even sure if the GS name will live on through the end of the decade. Rumors said that it might talk about $45,000 and $53,000 for your new model, but we anticipate all around $47,000 to $51,000.
2019 Lexus GS Powertrain and Performance
2019 Lexus GS will runs with several versions of the engine. One of them, under the hood of the 2019 GS features a 3.0 liter twin-turbo V6 will also appear on the redesigned 5th-gen Lexus LS. It that makes 400 horsepower and 325 pound feet of torque. Acceleration is reasonably strong once underway, but stomping on the gas pedal under any circumstance results in a significant delay while the transmission and turbocharger decide what to do 2019 Lexus GS.
