The 2018 Chevy Suburban is a capable full-size SUV that can carry up to nine passengers in a refined interior. This vehicle combines massive passenger, cargo and towing capabilities in a way that few other vehicles can. But depending on your priorities, some rival SUVs or crossovers might work out better overall. Chevy Suburban may have been recently redesigned, but it still has all the old and familiar features Americans. Chevrolet knows there are plenty of competitors for its family hauler, especially from the likes of the new Ford Expedition EL and Toyota Sequoia, so the company upped the ante last year, giving the Suburban more features, more luxury, more power and better fuel efficiency.
2018 Chevrolet Suburban Exterior and Interior Design
Despite major updates last year, the Suburban makes a few important changes for 2018. Exterior shares nothing of design or components with its Silverado pickup truck counterpart. Chevy’s exterior designers had a lot of space at their disposal and used it well, this big SUV has a presence that is decidedly commanding. This includes a newly available reconfigurable gauge cluster, a heads up display and a new lane keep assist feature. Long, flowing lines emphasize the Suburban’s considerable length instead of hiding it, and the front end will also come with immense chrome accents. There shall be projector beam headlights which will be properly integrated on the sides of the grille and wheel sizes up to 22 inches in diameter. For the Suburban high trims like the LTZ, there will be LED daytime running lights.
The interior is a suavely sculpted environment, with a large touchscreen interface for audio controls, and a curved console countering the square jawed exterior. The interior looks and feels upscale, particularly in LTZ models. Increased room makes it more livable, but it’s still best suited for children or shorter adults, unless the trip is quite short. The third row seat in this generation of Suburban is better than ever before. An 8 inch touchscreen with Chevy MyLink connectivity, previously offered in mid and high trim Suburbans only, is now standard, and now includes Apple CarPlay smartphone integration. The optional Driver Alert package comes with a lane departure intervention feature and automatic headlights. Other available features include a Blu-Ray DVD entertainment system, keyless entry with pushbutton start, a power tailgate, a cargo management system, up to six USB ports and six power outlets.
2018 Chevrolet Suburban Release Date and Price

2018 Chevrolet Suburban Powertrain and Performance
Under the bonnet of the 2018 Chevrolet Suburban, there will be the same engine as the one which is found in the 2016 model. All 2018 Chevy Suburbans are powered by a 5.3 liter V8 engine that makes 355 hp and 383 pound feet of torque. A six speed automatic transmission powers the rear wheels on 2WD models or all four wheels on 4WD models. Another engine which will be found in the new Suburban is a 6.2 liter V8 which will make about 420 horses and 460 lb ft of torque. Four wheel drive Suburbans come with a single-speed 4WD system designed to provide extra traction on slick winter roads. For off-roading capability, a more traditional 4WD system with a two speed transfer case is available in 2018 Chevrolet Suburban.
