The market will be the arrival of new pickup 2018 Nissan Frontier. While we still really like the current Nissan Frontier, it’s beginning to show its age when compared to all-new competition from Chevrolet and Toyota. Now that the Titan has been fully revised, it is time for the Frontier to receive a big update. The truck remained unchanged for the past decade and it shows. Even though U.S market release timeline for the next Frontier has not been announced yet. The question about the 2018 vs. 2019 model year for the new truck is still outstanding. We will still to wait and see.
2018 Nissan Frontier Exterior and Interior Design
The Navara might not be the 2018 Nissan Frontier, but most of its traits will definitely be carried over. Nissan is likely to refine its current Frontier line with not much of drastic changes. Possibility, the Frontier will come in two cab configurations, the smaller King Cab and the larger Double Cab. The grille is getting additional horizontal lines. Also, more parts are going to be chromed than before. Reworked fog light mounts finished in dark chrome adds some depth to the design. 2018 Nissan Frontier is great especially since the truck has a really muscular and upmarket look which makes it stand out from its competitors.
Last redesigned for the 2005 model year, the Frontier’s gutsy and nimble size have made it still elegance, but its dated interior design and old-school highway manners are showing their age. New Frontier will have similar interior like Navara. The pickup may feature bucket seats separated by a console, while the seats will be power adjustable and may have heating options. Several information systems will be updated. There are also plenty of infotainment options available in the center console panel of the truck. Satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity option, and 6 inch wide touch screen display just to mention a few.
2018 Nissan Frontier Release Date and Price
Nissan has not yet announced a release date for the 2018 Frontier. Based on production estimates, we currently anticipate an on-sale date in October 2017. Its pricing scheme will likely not change all that much from the ongoing model. The base truck should still cost around $22,000 with the top end versions going for more than $40,000.
2018 Nissan Frontier Powertrain and Specifications
It’s hard to state what Nissan Frontier has up its sleeve for the next-generation. The new Titan XD uses the 5.0 liter Cummins turbo-diesel V8, and Nissan has shown a Frontier with a 2.8 liter 4 cylinder diesel before. It is quite possible that the 2018 Nissan Frontier will feature the same unit but slightly improved. Also, Frontier Concept show model comes powered by a 2.3 liter diesel engine that produces 187 hp and 450 Nm of torque. It’s not exactly easy to say what Nissan’s Frontier is going to show us in 2018. We just hope Nissan preserves the current Frontier’s low-end torque, rather than swapping out the large-displacement V6 for 2018 Nissan Frontier more efficient engine.
