Renault is developing a new platform that will be used 2018 Renault Clio. This platform is being developed in cooperation with Nissan. It’s become the fourth generation since the first generation of Renault Clio appeared in the European market in 1990. The rendered Clio does feature the company’s new family design cues, but in a very exaggerated fashion. The upcoming hot-hatch was just spotted testing in Europe. Even though Renault has yet to confirm, but we’ve come up with a speculative piece about what this beefed-up Clio might bring to the table.
2018 Renault Clio Exterior and Interior Design
The Clio’s new shape is a more provocative shape than the model it replaces. There are some novelties we are able to discover thanks to the patent images. The headlights seem to feature slightly different graphics than those of current Megane models. LED headlights, an front blade element that was inspired by Formula 1. It’s the same story at the back where the taillights look a tad bit changed as well while below them is a muscular bumper with two side scoops. Overall, 2018 Renault Clio introducing Renault’s new corporate face and flowing aerodynamically informed lines blended with shapely hip lines that give the Clio uncommonly flattering angles.
According to a new report out of the UK, the next-generation 2018 Renault Clio will have a completely different cockpit. A little surprise for the main control we tend to see inside where there were no rear seats. These were also removed on the concept cars in order to make them as light as possible. The tailgate should include the same leather-wrapped steering wheel and bucket seats with six-point harnesses. A special plaque to speak of the car’s limited availability should also find its way on the dashboard. Advances in autonomous safety systems are promised, but the new Clio will also use a much larger and more responsive portrait-style touchscreen.
2018 Renault Clio Release Date and Price
Judging by the newest interviews about the 2018 Renault Clio, we are expecting the new release at the 2018 Paris Auto Show. As with the facelifted Clio, expect a small increase in price over that of the current Mégane, so a starting price of around £27,000 is likely.
2018 Renault Clio Powertrain and Specs
Under the bonnet, very little information we get. The drive unit most likely once again mimic the concept car, and get its juice from the 2.0 liter mill from the Megane RS 275 Trophy-R. Rumor has it about 300 horsepower. This will be paired manual transmission with six speed but maybe will expect to keep it relative to Clio’s EDC automatic transmission. Power gives acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h for 6 seconds and maximum speed up to 250 km/h. The company’s 4 Control all wheel steering has been confirmed, along with a choice of Sport or Cup chassis. The car will also feature a new cooling system to handle the 2018 Renault Clio new performance characteristics.
