2018 VW Passat, Volkswagen’s latest design fascination seems to be with horizontal lines witness the Euro Passat and the newly. While the Global Passat has evolved greatly since 2011, the one sold in the US is actually quite a different car. The 2018 Volkswagen Passat will use a very similar platform to the B8 but it also features a few extras as well as it is missing a few things. Even though it isn’t the best selling car in its class Volkswagen Passat 2018 will certainly be the most interesting car thanks to the fact that it is the only car offering a diesel in its engine range which is always nice to see and the best part about this diesel is that it is quite powerful as well as impressive to use.
2018 Volkswagen Passat Exterior and Interior Design
As Volkswagen puts it, the Passat gets a more dynamic presence and sophisticated look, but in truth it involves the usual sorts of things afforded to a mid-cycle refresh—new front and rear styling tweaks. But the most significant change is that the R-Line package is being offered for the Passat for the first time in the U.S. This comes with big 19-inch wheels, a new rear diffuser and rocker panels, and black accents, most notably on the front bumper. LED headlights and taillights add more elements of sophistication. It really does improve the appearance.
The Passat changes a fair bit on the inside, but more in the technology department than with seating and other simpler amenities. Passat will easily accommodate four adults. Not only has Volkswagen updated its infotainment with a new software system. It also comes with standard USB ports and Bluetooth. All those MDI connectors are history. Good riddance. Those USB ports are going to come in handy for those with iPhones and Android devices as a hard-wired connection is required to use Apple CarPlay. The Passat also supports Android Auto and there’s MirrorLink, which appears to be a similar thing for phones you buy on sale from Cricket.
2018 Volkswagen Passat Release Date and Price
The release date of the new 2018 VW Passat will be launched at the end of 2018. The car was also priced more affordably than its predecessor. Because of what we get now, the Passat has gone through a more of incremental changes. The S trim will start pricing starting at $ 22,800 and the SEL trim will have priced starting at $ 30,900.
2018 Volkswagen Passat Powertrain and Performance
The 2018 Volkswagen Passat will come with one diesel engine. This is going to be a 2.0 liter turbocharged inline 4 which will be able to put out 150 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque which is a nice bump over the previous car. This will be only available with a brand new 6 speed manual which is going to be a lot better. Performance will also improve thanks to the new gearbox, so a 0 to 60 MPH time of 8.7 seconds and a limited top speed of 120 MPH should be quite sufficient for such a fuel 2018 Volkswagen Passat.
