After months of previews touting just about every aspect of its totally redesigned flagship SUV, we finally got our first behind the wheel time in the all new 2018 Volvo XC90.
2018 Volvo XC90 Interior and Exterior Design
The new 2018 Volvo XC90 is the first model based on the new Scalable Product Architecture. Similar to the ‘Baukasten’ system in use at the Volkswagen Group this allows for multiple models to share the same basic architecture. The XC90 is bigger than your average SUV with 5.5 inches or 140 mm added to its length to complete the total of 95 meters or 194.8 inches. The 2018 Volvo XC90 model will keep the excellent design and possibly add a few improvements to the lights and grille.
Known for its humble designs and underscored luxury, Volvo is making a big statement with its fully refreshed 2018 Volvo XC90. Expect some improvements to come in a form of a upgraded touchscreen infotainment system, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster display, Sensus Navigation with voice control and a high-performance audio system, Wi-Fi connectivity, front and rear parking sensors and a reverse-view camera, LED auto bending lights with active high beam the biggest and boldest in the entire SUV class and beyond.

2018 Volvo XC90 expected to be available to eager takers by the end of 2017. The price range should start from around $46, 000 and will exceed $100, 000 for the plug-in hybrid version.
2018 Volvo XC90 Engine Specs and Performance
It seems the 2018 Volvo XC90, even though it’s still basically a big SUV, has a lot of mass appeal, because we haven’t really heard one bad word about it. The top of the range luxury SUV is a completely new development. The 2018 Volvo XC90 will come in the form of D5 or a T8 model, the former being a diesel and the latter a hybrid. Both models will offer excellent engines.
The D5 will come with a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder bi-turbo engine that has the ability to make 225 hp and 470 Nm of torque. As for the T8 it will have a twin engine under its hood that mates a 4 cylinder gasoline engine with a FWD and an e-motor with a RWD. Total output of this twin engine will be 400 hp, while the electric motor will be able to go 40 km or 24.85 miles before needing to be switched to gasoline. This combination 2018 Volvo XC90 is surprisingly quick and agile with the ability to sprint from 0 to 62 is just 6 seconds.
