This is Honda’s new tenth-generation Civic hatch. Well, 99% of what you see here will reputedly be released the Swindon production line early next year.
2018 Honda Civic Type-R Exterior and Interior Design
The 2018 Honda Civic Type-R will have an aggressive look on the outside, thanks to its new body kit. The exterior additions are the new rear wing, new front and rear bumpers as well as a new set of side skirts. The front fascia is totally new with a more upright Honda badge, missing side air inlets under the headlights, and added vertical brake ducts. Most noticeable are the three, center-mounted exhaust pipes with two large pipes and a smaller tip in between. Lastly, the rear doors receive a new design. Conventional pull style handles replace the C pillar mounted handle.
As for the interior features of upcoming Civic Type-R, expect it to be top of the class. The car will have a touchscreen entertainment system and gauges that reflect in the windscreen at night. Moreover, the heater controls are very easy to use. For driver’s comfort, the car seats will be much sportier and will come with better lateral support. Besides being a hot performer, the Civic Type R remains a hatchback and keeps all the great qualities of such. Folding second row seats and a decent cargo area will definitely make the generational leap.
2018 Honda Civic Type R Release Date and Price
The new Honda Civic Type was first introduced during the Geneva Auto Show this March and we can expect it to hit the market in July. Honda officials said the price of 2018 Honda Civic Type R starts around $33,900.
2018 Honda Civic Type-R Powertrain and Specification
Under the skin, the new Type R will likely be powered by new version to utilize the same 2.0 liter turbocharged VTEC unit, albeit with slight improvements to power and torque levels.
