2018 Ford Fiesta became one of our favorite hatchbacks, and will soon released. For the past four years, it has been the bestselling small car in Europe, and now a new, seventh-generation Fiesta is here to keep the good times rolling. Ford opted to keep the visual enhancements to a minimum, instead focusing its efforts on updating the underlying tech. The next generation version of Ford’s supermini isn’t a radically different recipie there are big changes under the bonnet of the new Fiesta.
2018 Ford Fiesta Exterior and Interior Design
Much like it’s predecessor, outside of the Fiesta will a slightly beefed up. At the front of the car, we should see the same grille that debuted on the new Fusion but instead of the old-looking headlights of the older model, the new car will get more European. Already sportier than the outgoing model, the new Fiesta gets even more aggressive, which adds a honeycomb mesh to the grille and black foglamps surrounds to the bumper. At the back, the older taillights and the rather uninspired hatch design are gone. Riding on 18 inch alloys, the 2018 Ford Fiesta has a more aggressive look and stance thanks to the larger wheel and tire package.
Inside, updates to the car’s cabin with slicker technology and a more upmarket feel are high on the agenda. 2018 Ford Fiesta boasts supportive Recaro sport seats, a competition-inspired flat-bottom steering wheel and a wide range of optional personalization items ranging from unique door pulls to gear lever trim. Dash filled with a bunch of buttons and inspired by cell phones is gone, and the new cabin is dominated by 8.0 inch touchscreen with the smaller number of control knobs right below it. Among the other features available with the Fiesta are Sync3 infotainment systems a Bang & Olufsen Play sound system as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
2018 Ford Fiesta Price and Release Date
Though the car has already been revealed, no word on a price, we expect a slight increase to around the £19,000 mark when it goes on sale. As the name suggests, you will have to wait until early 2018.
2018 Ford Fiesta Powertrain and Performance
The highlight is its engine underneath the hood. At this point, details are only available on three engine choices. It is a 1.0 and 1.1 liter three cylinder gasoline engines and a 1.5 liter four cylinder turbo diesel. This powertrain paired with a six speed manual or six speed automatic transmission. We do know however that an RS model of the Fiesta will be offered. This might use either a 1.5 liter engine or a larger 2 liter unit from the Focus ST. In any case, more than 250 horsepower should be achievable 2018 Ford Fiesta RS‘s version.
